I’m Siobahn, and I pronounce it show-bin (hence the lovely title of this blog).

Facts:
Birthday: January 27, 1988 (making me an Aquarius sun with Taurus moon and Gemini rising)
Location: All over Connecticut!
Education: Graduated May 23, 2010, from Amherst College. Graduated magna cum laude, with distinction, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Women’s and Gender Studies.

Disclaimer: I’m kind of quite vulgar and perverted when I want to be (though I am proud of this fact). I like to talk about sex and I swear a lot. I also talk about Pearl Jam way more than is healthy for a normal person. If any of these things offend you, then you probably don’t belong here in the first place.

Cast of Characters

Clueless as to who the heck I’m writing about? Here’s some important info:

Andrew is my boyfriend of 3+ years. We met when we were working at McDonald’s together (August 2006) and started dating in January 2007.

My dad is my dad! He’s a robotic engineer, an avid mountain biker, and a mechanic/plumber/electrician/carpenter all in one handy package.

My mom is my mom! She is a food services manager, a gardener, and a kickass cook.

Sinead is my middle sister. She is a certified nurse’s aide and a home healthcare professional.

Russ is Sinead’s fiancé. He works at Dunkin Donuts (though Sinead and I met him at McDonald’s!).

Braidan is Sinead’s and Russ’s son and my first nephew! He’s adorable and awesome.

Sam and Cliff are more or less one unit. They are two of my good friends who I met at (where else?) McDonald’s. They have a son together named Jack and will be getting married within the next 3-5 years. I am Sam’s maid of honor :)

About the Blog

“Showbin” is just the personal blog for my website. I hope to include some nice rants and perhaps some thoughtful entries as well. It is my goal that the blog not degenerate into “Sorry I haven’t updated in awhile! Here’s what I’ve done for the last few weeks” followed by some bullet-points of major events (my poor livejournal follows this style). I’ll probably write a lot about my senior thesis, my school, my job, feminism, my boyfriend, Pearl Jam, my family, etc. Of course, I’ll also write a lot about how gosh darn awesome I am.
